Young People Become Volunteers With Full Support Under the European Programme For the First Time in Bulgaria
In January, the newest volunteering project of the Association For You “Become a Volunteer! Change the World” started as a part of the European Solidarity Corps Programme.
This project includes 11 young people from Bulgaria who will do their volunteering service in Varna. For the first time in Bulgaria, this is an opportunity for participants and voluntary service organizations at a national level, which is structured, respect European quality requirements and provides validation for acquired skills of the volunteers. This ensures that the volunteering activities will be carried out to comply with the EU quality criteria. In addition to the skills that participants will acquire during the project, the funding provides full support and full employment throughout the period of the service.
Activities and Associations Implied in the Project
The selected tasks for each participant correspond to his/her education, professional development interests or personal interests. Young volunteers will engage in free time activities for children and young people in a disadvantaged situation, non-formal education activities, activities to promote the European Solidarity Corps Programme, surveys of local, national and Youth policies, work on international projects, etc. The youngsters will support “SOS Foundation-Families at Risk”, ”Association Varna European Youth Capital”, “Alternative Space Association”, “ University of Economics Varna” and “Association For You”.
Involve the Youngsters in Society
With the project “Become a Volunteer! Change the World!”, the association aims to stimulate the active participation of youth in initiatives for the benefit of society. Through their dedicated commitment and with good visibility of the activities for the youth, “FOR YOU” strives to show the public what is the role of youth in solving social problems and how to actively promote citizenship and European values in society. Another main objective of the project is to help the participants acquire both professional and soft skills for their future realization and thus support their future career and personal development.
Who Are We?
Association For You is a non-governmental organization working in public benefit. The organization was registered in 2009. And since then For You has worked in fields of youth, non-formal education, work with people with disabilities, youth mobility and migration. Since 2011 the association has been accepting and sending volunteers and trainees to different programmes. Youth in Action Programme, Leonardo Da Vinci, Erasmus+ (European Voluntary Service, mobilities in the field of vocational training and education), as well as voluntary service of Municipality of Varna, Eurodyssee programme of the Assembly of European regions. The organization has hosted and sent over 200 young people in various European mobility projects.
