Description
Fairtrade Lëtzebuerg asbl has been experienced in receiving volunteers since 2007. Our activity aims to raise awareness of the Luxembourgish population towards the social conditions of producers in the South. We regularly organize awareness campaigns about fair trade products and philosophy.
Tasks of the volunteers
Even though our volunteers are required to work independently they usually start each new project in a team and are always assisted by the supervisor and the office staff. We strongly like to emphasize that Fairtrade Lëtzebuerg adapts itself a lot to the will and the character of the volunteers, the projects can thus be shifted according to capacities, passion, motivation, and their different skills. Mentoring and support not only upon arrival but during the entire voluntary service are provided by the director, the office staff, and the external mentor / tutor.
We offer three different appointments:
1) Educational projects in primary schools: the volunteer will– after a training period –organize autonomously workshops in schools, day-care facilities for children and youngsters.
2) Awareness raising and office-related activities including fundraising, various internet research on fair-trade products and subjects, project descriptions, preparation of and participation at press conferences, etc.
3) A 50% – 50% mixture of the two mentioned posts. Depending on the potential need of the office staff the candidate must be very flexible since this post consists not only in educational workshops but also in the assistance to various awareness campaigns and office-related activities.
