In the period from April 22 to 27, workshops were held in Varna on our project “Is my voice useful?” under the Erasmus+ program. They brought together young people from Bulgaria, France, Spain, Sweden and the Czech Republic who participated in a variety of games and activities through which they learned more about the European Union, its history, the European Parliament, its system and functions. The main question that was discussed was: why should we vote.

For six days, young people got to know each other and shared opinions about the upcoming European elections, why they are important and how our vote matters. Various games were organized to facilitate the perception of information, including trivia questions and role plays. It made learning fun and engaging.

The first evening was organized at the Chuchura resturant. In the cozy atmosphere of a typical Bulgarian inn with traditional dishes, the youth and the leaders got to know each other and created new friendships through pleasant and light conversations.

One day was dedicated to a city rally, in which the participants traveled around Varna to take pictures in various key places for the city and thus got to know our maritime capital.

The young people also had a meeting at the Youth Center Orbit with the deputy. reg. manager Isabella Ivanova. She told them about the nature of her work, the political system in Bulgaria and the voting process in the country.

An international evening is also organized within the event, where each of the five countries presents its culture through food, music, languages ​​and customs. The participants exchanged impressions, experiences and knowledge, which contributed to a better understanding and cohesion between them. Tonight was also an important moment to strengthen ties and create friendships between youth from different countries.

In the last workshop, the young people were divided into teams and given the task of creating posters with a call to vote. This motivates them to think creatively and work in a team.

The week ended with a final gathering at the Rubik’s Club, where all the young people had a good time talking, playing darts, jigs and billiards. Everyone polished off their Youthpass and created many unforgettable moments.
