The Day Center for Adults with Disabilities “Sunny House,” managed by the “Family Center – Maria” association, has launched a new project under the “European Solidarity Corps” program. The project will involve two volunteers, one of whom is from a disadvantaged background. This initiative not only promotes solidarity and social inclusion but also emphasizes the mission of “Sunny House” – to enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities and support their full participation in society.

About “Sunny House”

“Sunny House” is a Day Center providing social services for adults with various forms of disabilities. The primary services offered by the center include:

• Day Care – Individual support aimed at developing independence and skills for managing daily  activities.
• Information and Counseling – Assistance in accessing community resources and raising awareness of the rights of people with disabilities.
• Advocacy and Mediation – Support in defending the rights and needs of people with disabilities in different institutions.
• Therapy and Rehabilitation – Development of social and communication skills, along with improving physical and psycho-emotional health.
• Work Skills – Encouraging professional realization by building motivation and self-confidence.

About the “European Solidarity Corps” Project

The new project will provide two volunteers with the opportunity to contribute to various activities supporting individuals with disabilities. The inclusion of a volunteer from a disadvantaged background highlights “Sunny House’s” commitment to equality and social inclusion.

The volunteers will engage in initiatives such as organizing events and fostering social interactions among the center’s users. Moreover, the project will offer the volunteers the chance to gain new knowledge and skills that will be valuable for both their personal and professional growth.
