Erasmus+ Youth Exchange “The Rule of Youth in Data Protection and Privacy Rights in Digital Transformation”
From April 28 to May 4, 2025, Association FOR YOU will organize the youth exchange “The Role of Youth in Data Protection and Privacy Rights in Digital Transformation” in Varna, Bulgaria, under the Erasmus+ Programme, KA152-YOU – Mobility of Young People (Project №: 2024-3-BG01-KA152-YOU-000275741).
The project will bring together 30 participants from Bulgaria, France, Croatia, and Serbia to address one of the most relevant challenges for young people today — protecting personal data and promoting safe online behavior. The exchange will create space for participants to reflect on their digital habits, learn about privacy rights, and become more aware of their role in shaping a secure digital environment.
Project Topics and Activities
The youth exchange will focus on increasing awareness among young people about cyber culture, digital security, and the importance of a safe digital environment for all. Participants will explore the topic of personal data protection, with special attention to how information is handled on social media platforms. The project will also address the role of cookies, the meaning and implications of privacy policy statements, and the basic principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
In addition, the programme will examine how digital well-being influences mental health and emotional safety in online spaces. Through a combination of interactive workshops, group discussions, and practical exercises, participants will learn how to identify online risks and apply appropriate safety measures. They will also be introduced to useful tools and practices for building a responsible and secure digital presence.
Key Output: A Youth-Created Safety Guide
One of the main results of the exchange will be the guide “Online Safety Measures and Practices”, which will be developed by the participants themselves. It will provide practical recommendations for staying safe online, understanding privacy rights, and managing personal data in everyday digital interactions.
To ensure accessibility and wider impact, the guide will be translated into five languages: Bulgarian, French, Croatian, Serbian, and English.
