Youth Guide to Online Safety | Erasmus+ Data Privacy Project
️ Online Safety Measures and Practices: A Youth-Made Guide in 5 Languages
In a world increasingly shaped by digital transformation, online safety and privacy are more important than ever. As part of the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange “The Rule of Youth in Data Protection and Privacy Rights in Digital Transformation”, 30 young people from Bulgaria, France, Croatia, and Serbia gathered in Varna, Bulgaria, from April 28 to May 4, 2025. Their goal was to explore how youth can be empowered to protect personal data, respect digital rights, and navigate the internet responsibly.
This project, supported by the Erasmus+ programme under the action KA152-YOU – Mobility of Young People, was coordinated by Association FOR YOU (Bulgaria) in collaboration with
- Maison de l’Europe des Landes WIPSEE (France)
- Kulturni sudar Hrvatska (Croatia)
- IUVENTA NEVLADINA ORGANIZACIJA UDRUZENJE (Serbia)
The initiative brought together participants from diverse backgrounds to engage in workshops, discussions, and collaborative activities focused on digital safety, personal privacy, and the broader implications of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Key themes addressed during the exchange included responsible digital communication, how cookies and privacy policies work, the fundamentals of data protection, and the impact of digital behavior on mental well-being. As a result of their work, participants co-created a practical guide to help other young people better understand and apply safe practices online.
The guide—created by youth, for youth—is now available in multiple languages to ensure broader access across Europe.
