New Erasmus+ project: Fostering active youth participation in environmental advocacy
We are excited to announce the launch of our new Erasmus+ project “Fostering active youth participation in environmental advocacy” (Project No. 2025-1-BG01-KA154-YOU-
Who are we?
The project is coordinated by Association FOR YOU (Bulgaria) in partnership with Aiforia – ecoculture e.V (Germany) and StarBalkans (Albania). Together, we aim to empower youth to take the lead in solving local environmental challenges.
What do we aim to achieve?
Our main goals are:
- Building a network of young environmental leaders across Bulgaria, Albania, and Germany.
- Raising awareness on recycling and waste management.
- Supporting youth in designing and leading local environmental campaigns and events.
- Promoting dialogue between young people and institutions, strengthening trust and collaboration.
Activities ahead
Over the course of the year, young participants will take part in:
- Local workshops (Nov–Dec 2025) in each country to learn about recycling, meet municipalities, and visit eco-friendly businesses and NGOs.
- Mobility in Tirana, Albania (26–30 January 2026) on the role of youth in recycling and waste management campaigns.
- Youth-led local campaigns (April 2026) in Varna, Tirana, and Freiburg.
- Mobility in Varna, Bulgaria (29 April – 3 May 2026), focusing on youth-led public awareness events.
- Local public events (July 2026) in each country to engage communities and spread awareness.
Who can join?
The project will involve 24 young people (aged 18–30). No prior experience or English knowledge is required—just motivation and passion for protecting the environment.
Expected results
By the end of the project, participants will have gained valuable skills, confidence, and practical experience in environmental activism. They will design and implement their own campaigns and public events, supported by training and international exchanges. Through these activities, young people will create videos and interviews documenting their journey, ensuring that their voices and perspectives reach wider audiences. Most importantly, the project will establish a sustainable international youth network for environmental advocacy, giving participants the opportunity to continue collaborating beyond the project’s lifetime. In addition to personal growth, the project will strengthen the capacity of the participating organizations, raise public awareness on environmental issues, and foster closer cooperation between young people, NGOs, businesses, and local authorities.
Why does it matter?
This project is not only about learning—it’s about action. By creating spaces for dialogue and collaboration between youth, NGOs, businesses, and institutions, we aim to raise awareness of the European Green Deal, the Waste Framework Directive, and the EU’s broader efforts to make Europe more sustainable
