My Body, My Gender – Art as a path to self-discovery and tolerance

In July 2025, our organization had the pleasure of taking part in the international training “My Body, My Gender”, implemented under the Erasmus+ programme (2022-1-CZ01-KA150-YOU-000111402). The project was organized by Brno for You (Czechia) and brought together young people and youth workers from different European countries to explore the topics of body, gender identity, and acceptance through the power of art and art therapy.

Art as Therapy and a Tool for Change

During the eight-day training, participants immersed themselves in art-therapeutic practices aimed at better understanding their emotions and identities. Through activities such as body mapping, community art, and land art, they discovered new ways to express themselves and connect with others. The project focused on developing self-awareness, emotional resilience, and body positivity, while also encouraging tolerance and empathy among participants.

A Training that Builds Community

The event took place in the picturesque village of Moravec, Czechia, at the Penzion u Výletů guesthouse — a peaceful and supportive environment for learning and creativity. Part of the program included a field visit to Brno, where participants presented their community art project “Wall of Experience” – a symbol of shared stories and mutual understanding.
