Inclusion Through Sports 2.0 – Using sport as a tool for inclusion and education

International Erasmus+ Training Course brought together participants from 7 countries

Between April 17th and 24th, 2026, the international training course “Inclusion Through Sports 2.0” took place in Jánoshalma, bringing together 32 participants from 7 different countries: Hungary, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Czechia, Portugal, and Serbia.

The main goal of the project was to provide participants with practical knowledge and skills on how sport can be used as an educational tool to promote inclusion, teamwork, communication, and active participation.

Education Through Sports – Learning through movement and experience

Throughout the training week, participants explored various methodologies connected to Education Through Sports (ETS) – an approach that uses sports activities and games to develop social, personal, and communication skills.

Working in international teams, participants designed and facilitated educational sport games focused on inclusion, cooperation, and active engagement. Some of the activities were later implemented in a local school during P.E. classes together with local students.

The feedback from the children was truly inspiring – many of them shared that they wished all their future P.E. lessons could be like the ones facilitated by the participants: interactive, fun, and built around teamwork and inclusion.

Skills and competences developed during the project

During the training course, participants strengthened their competences in several important areas:

  • successful teamwork and cooperation;
  • meaningful communication;
  • facilitation of learning processes;
  • designing educational activities through sport;
  • working in multicultural environments;
  • promoting social inclusion through non-formal education.

The project offered participants not only new tools and methodologies, but also the opportunity to exchange good practices, cultural perspectives, and ideas for future international cooperation.

Feedback from participants

One of the Bulgarian participants, Marieta Kovacheva-Terziyska, shared her emotional reflection after the project:

“It has been a week since we came back from one of the coolest and most memorable adventures of my life! Huge thanks to Toni and Association For You for giving me and Yavor the opportunity to join this incredible Erasmus experience.”

She also described the inspiring atmosphere, the strong international team spirit, and the way sport and movement can help people become more conscious, cooperative, and connected to others.

According to the participants, the project was far more than just a training course – it was a transformative experience that created new friendships, valuable knowledge, and motivation for future initiatives.

Erasmus+ Projects that create real impact

“Inclusion Through Sports 2.0” is a powerful example of how Erasmus+ projects can successfully combine education, sport, and social impact. Through non-formal learning, practical activities, and international cooperation, participants gained valuable competences that they can now apply in their local communities and future projects.

The project demonstrated that sport is much more than physical activity – it is a universal language for inclusion, communication, and community building.
