Irina, our latvian volunteer in Varna

Irina tell us who is she

For 24 years my name has been Irina and I still didn't change it. Originally I'm from capital of Latvia-Riga.Couldn't stay there for a long time, so I decided to change my life a bit and move to Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences which is 107 km far from my home. During my political science studies there, I tried lots of things, but the most important was my Erasmus in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. We spend there almost 6 month, but it was enough to fall in love in Bulgaria.

Why did you decided to join an EVS project?

Since the day when we left Bulgaria, I tried to find the possibility to come back. At that time it would be enough at least for a day or so, but then I decided that I would like to spend my time in Bulgaria a bit more, so I started to search an information about European Voluntary Service. After a few months of searching, I found a post on facebook page about long term EVS in Varna.

Despite the fact that it's not the place where I spent my Erasmus studies, I still wanted to come back and I did.

What are you doing here?

For more then two months now, I'm working in the University of Economics-Varna at the International Relations office. Nothing has change and the main tasks here are to help incoming and outgoing Erasmus+ students, to keep relations with partner universities and dicscover new ones.

Do you like your project?

This type of work suits me more then perfectly, because here I can learn and improve my professional skills that will help me in the future. During my stay here I met incredible people- starting from guys from the university and of course all lovely volunteers. :)

Hope to see you somewhere in Varna.
