Volunteer from Turkey in Association FOR YOU

Who am I ?
I am Ahmet Özdemir. I am in Varna for 10 months since 1 September. I am trying to help other people in Varna as an European volunteer (EVS).
I was born in 1986 in Istanbul.I am Turkish citizen.I have graduated from Erciyes University at Physics Department. Now I am studying in Anadolu University at Business Management Department. My job is foreign trade.
Though I seem a bit quiet and impassive from outside, I like to live fast and full up, beside being keen on trying new stuff and learning more about everything. My great passion is snowboard. Beside that, I like running, camping, bowling, writing, reading, charcoal painting, travelling and meeting new people.

What are we doing ?
Together with youngsters with phisical and mental disabilities, we are making various jewelery and bric-a-brac workshop and entertainment activities. With this exercise the youngsters are learning team work, they increase their concentration and are feeling as a normal persons themselves.
In association ForYou we apply other projects. One is Voluntary return of migrants which support legal and illegal migrants. Other project is Meet Europe and this project is on the topic Antidiscrimination on Ethnical and National Identity.

What is the EVS ?

EVS (European Voluntary Service) is an European Union Youth Programme which is intended to procure conscious of Europeanness.
Youngsters between 18 to 30 years old can join this programme and work as volunteers for community benefit.
With this programme, the European Union is intending to improve the social harmony especially in the EU and to straighten solidarity and tolerance between young people.
The EU covers the expenses for one time travelling, accommodation, language course and food for each young volunteer.
