Taste&Share Fourth Edition

On the 7th of February 2019, we had the fourth edition of our “Taste & Share” at the “Yo-Ho-Hostel” and this time we were about 50 people, which were very interested to know more about different cultures and to taste food.

In this edition, we had the possibility to know more about Belgium, Nigeria, and France.
The event started with the presentation of Emma, who shared information about France. She told us the places to visit in France. She told us about the museums, the Musée des Confluences in Lyon, The Louvre in Paris.  But also some beautiful places to go like to Normandie, Lyon, Marseille, and Avignon during the famous festival of theatre.

The second presentation was from Axel, about his small and beautiful country, Belgium. He started by showing where it is located, politics but also the famous monuments and folklore. For example and talked about Saint-Nicolas, and introduced René Magritte, the symbol of Belgian surrealism.
He talked about some typical dishes from his country: French Fries (it’s Belgian in fact), two kinds of waffles  Liège et Brussels waffles, and also about the famous Belgium beers - about 1700 types!!!

The last presentation was from Titilayo, that comes from the sunny and colorful country Nigeria.
She spoke about her culture, famous dishes and all different types of language in the different regions of her country. But she also talked about politics and about the three major ethnic groups, with the Hausa in the north, the Yoruba in the southwest, and the Igbo in the southeast.
The dishes that she cooked with her group were a delight, we could feel the sun in it and also a bit of spicy to get warmer.

Of course after all the presentations we had the possibility to talk with everybody while eating delicious dishes from Nigeria, Belgium, and France. We all prepared salty dishes. French Fries, Peaches with Tuna fish, Cheese Croquettes, Lorraine quiche, spicy rice with vegetables, spicy soup with pork inside, and salad. Everybody was happy, we ate with happiness and joy.

Finally, thank you very much to Yo-Ho-Hostel for being such a good host, and thanks to everybody for the good time.
