JaRa’s Team Building Training with the Association FOR YOU

On a Friday morning, the table football team JaRa came together to gain new knowledge about teamwork and motivation with the help of Association FOR YOU. Our colleague Dillyana and our volunteer Lelde from Riga helped conducted the training. The training started with little getting to know each other and introduction about the upcoming day. After the first activities and tasks, it was time for a little rest and energiser. It gave them the opportunity to move a bit and to fully wake up as the first part of the training everyone felt a little bit sleepy.

JaRa members started exchanging ideas.

Right after this JaRa club members jumped in the theme of teamwork. They explored the true meaning of these words and went deeper into different types of team structures. It followed with a task – to define what is the exact structure of their team. This at the beginning so easy task turned to be harder than anyone thought. Because each of the team members had their own idea about the team and how it should be.

After long discussions, it was finally time for a lunch break. Everyone could fill up their hunger with tasty and filling pizzas. When all the stomachs were full, it was time to transform into superheroes. Each participant was asked to imagine that they were superheroes. They had to draw themselves and to describe what kind of superpowers they had. And they had to put their superpowers into actions when the next task came.

The team was supposed to plan a sports competition. The choice to plan exactly table football competition was more than obvious, but nonetheless, it was not that easy. They had to think about all the aspects of competitions – from time, date, length, target audience until financing and task distribution.

Talking with Zoya Chavdarova – Bulgarian Paraolympic tennis champion.

They did a good job and made a really thoughtful plan for upcoming JaRa competitions. As the last but not the least part of training was the visit of a professional paralympic tennis champion Zoya Chavdarova. She shared her experience inside and outside of the tennis court and the problems she has to face as a sportswoman.
