Young people from Varna join a long-term volunteer initiative in 2022!

During the year, 11 volunteers will support the activities of various organizations in the city of Varna. Association FOR YOU encouraged young people between the ages of 18 and 30 to develop professional skills in various fields. The Voluntary Service is part of the European Solidarity Corps program.  

What are the volunteer activities they will be involved in?

They relate to youth work, non-formal learning, social activities, sports, culture and the arts, and international relations.

Where will the volunteer participants be?

SOS Families at Risk Foundation: Four of the young people will contribute to the activities of the organization and will support risk groups.

Skate Club “Varna”: Three volunteers will organize events in the youth center “Hale 3“. They will also deal with photography, video recording, video editing, and content creation for social media and networks. 

Ja-Ra Table Football Club: One volunteer will train children and young people, communicate with partners, and help promote activities. 

University of Economics-Varna: One young person will be engaged in the Department of International Cooperation. There he will advise students on the Erasmus + program and will maintain the channels on social networks, and will be responsible for the content in the blog of the department. 

Association FOR YOU: One volunteer will participate in the communication team and will promote the opportunities under the program “European Solidarity Corps” and youth mobility. And another volunteer in a disadvantaged position will support the activities of the art-social workshop Place FOR YOU and will participate in creative workshops for children and youth in disadvantaged situations. 

What are the goals of the project?

Project number 2021-1-BG01-ESC51-VTJ-000037606 will stimulate the active involvement of young people in activities of interest and will support the transition from education to employment. By the end of the year, volunteers will be involved in activities based on common European values ​​- solidarity, tolerance, acceptance of differences, gender equality, inclusive growth, and democracy. All of them will be participants in the European Solidarity Corps program. Participation in European programs and civic initiatives will increase the sense of European identity of the participants, but also of the local community and will aim to foster European values ​​in society.
