Looking for Volunteers to Help Bring a Green Education Center to Life in Rural Bulgaria!

Are you ready to spend your summer doing something meaningful, outdoors, and full of purpose? Join the Association for Shared Learning ELA in the beautiful mountain village of Sturgel and help us transform an abandoned school into a vibrant Green Education Center!

We are inviting 6 motivated volunteers to take part in a unique two-month project aimed at revitalizing rural community spaces through sustainable renovation and creativity.

Location: Sturgel, Bulgaria
Period: 16 June – 15 September 2025

What Will You Do as a Volunteer?

As part of the team, you will:

• Help with basic renovation work on the building and its surroundings
• Participate in woodworking, painting, and using natural or reclaimed materials
• Maintain outdoor areas and assist in garden work
• Support the creation of functional, eco-friendly spaces within the center

This mission is ideal for hands-on individuals who enjoy teamwork, working in nature, and making a real impact.

Accommodation and Living Conditions

Volunteers will be provided with:

• Shared accommodation for the entire duration of the project (60 days)
• A monthly food allowance and pocket money
• Transport support within the country
• Reimbursement of international travel expenses (within budget limits)

Please note that conditions are basic but comfortable, offering a true experience of rural living in a peaceful, scenic environment.

On-the-Job Training

You won’t be on your own – we’ll help you grow every step of the way through:

• National Agency training sessions (on-arrival and mid-term)
• Introductory training tailored to your specific tasks
• Free access to the Online Language Support (OLS) platform for Bulgarian
• Informal learning opportunities and hands-on skill development throughout the project
