Еxhibition on the project Meet Europe

Today in the Grand mall Varna you can see the exhibition on the project Meet Europe. The exhibition is on the last floor next to the Arena cinema and will stay there for the next 2 weeks (until 07.12.2011)

Meet Europe is a multinational youth exchange between Germany, Poland, Bulgaria, Serbia, Armenia and Ukraine, and was held between 19.09.2011 and 26.09.2011 in Bremerhaven, Germany. Main theme of this exchange is “(Anti-) Discrimination on ethnic and national identity” and its main objectives are to develop solidarity and tolerance among the participating young people from different backgrounds as well as to foster mutual understanding between people from different countries. Furthermore the project contributes to promoting active citizenship of young people and development of cooperation at European level between organizations working in the youth filed.

During 8 days, 30 people from 6 different countries got to know each other’s countries, traditions and cultures. They learned more about the discrimination and discussed how to deal with it. All together, the young people organized an international evening in the German city and presented to the local community different folk dances, songs, tradition and food. The event was accompanied by a photo exhibition with pictures from each country, presenting the beauty of the nature, interesting historical heritage, traditions, examples of discrimination / integration as well as everything that the youngsters consider as “Obligatory to be shown in public”. The pictures are collected by the participants themselves from their personal photo albulms or from Internet. Back home, each partner show this exhibition in its hometown and thus our initiative will go around Europe.

We are gratefull to Grand Mall Varna for their support!
