Build skills abroad: Volunteer opportunity in Varna’s University Library, Bulgaria

We are looking for young people between the ages of 18 and 30 for volunteer under the European Solidarity Corps program in the University of Economics -Varna in Varna, Bulgaria.

The project will last 30 weeks from 01/12/2024 to 30/06/2025.

Library volunteer in Varna Bulgaria

Description of the activity:

Tasks of the volunteer:

  • To be part of the team of the Library at the Varna University of Economics
  • To support the work related to the digitization of the library archive
  • To support the work related to the guidance of library users
  • To support the work related to organizing and arranging the library
  • Publishes information on the library’s social networks
  • Other various tasks or projects related to the activities of the library

Work time: 30 hours/week Monday-Friday. Rest during the Bulgarian national holidays

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements:

Volunteers are provided with:

  • accommodation in a single room in a flat in Varna,
  • pocket money according to the programme rules
  • money for food and transport in the city,
  • international health insurance
  • international certificate for participation in the European Solidarity Corps programme

On-the-job training:

  • Bulgarian language class
  • on-arrival and mid-term trainig

As a result of the project, participants will improve the following skills and knowledge:

  • Communication skills in Bulgarian
  • Library work
  • Presentation skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Digital skills
  • Social skills
  • Cultural awareness

Moldova (Republic of), North Macedonia, Ukraine, Serbia, Montenegro
