URGENT: We are searching for candidates for a volunteering project in Škofja Loka, Slovenia under the European Solidarity Corps program.

• Activity: 5 volunteers are needed to be a part of this project. They will be involved in 10 local organizations in the field of youth, social care, prevention, and education (Day Care centers for Children and Youth, Schools, Project learning of young adults…). 
• Duration: 12 months – August 2021 to August 2022
• Application deadline: 28th of March 2021 – CV and motivation letter to volunteer@foryoubg.org 

Volunteer Placements:

The volunteers will be involved in classes, various workshops, excursions,…  They will get to know the theory and practice of Preventive Work with children, youth, and people with fewer opportunities within the education and social system in Slovenia. 

Thus 8 placements are available for volunteers:

• Vacancy 1 – MDC Blok
  • MDC Blok is a daily youth center that is a part of the Familija foundation.
  • Working hours 13:00-19:00
  • The daily center offers diverse programs for youngsters between 10 and 18 years of age.

• Vacancy 2 – PUM-O
  • PUM-O stands for “Project learning for young adults”. 
  • Working hours 8:30 – 14:30 
  • It is an informal educational program that serves youngsters between the ages of 15 and 25 years who dropped out of the educational system.

• Vacancy 3 – DC Škrlovec
  • The program is realized by two full-time workers and around 20 volunteers
  • The volunteer will be involved in the activities based on their own desires, wishes, knowledge, and needs. 
  • The target population of Škrlovec is children, adolescents, and young people between 10 and 20 years of age, who live in the area of the municipality of Kranj.

• Vacancy 4 – Šent
  • Šent is a daycare center, intended for adults with minor mental disabilities.
  • The volunteer will attend the daily program, organize workshops and assist individuals and staff
    

• Vacancy 5 – Primary Schools
  • OŠ Škofja Loka – Mesto and OŠ Cvetka Golarja are two primary schools for children aged 6 to 15 situated in the town of Škofja Loka with OŠ Škofja Loka 
  • Working hours: 8:00 and 13:00, from time to time also in the afternoon
  • The daily activities of the volunteer will be discussed with the coordinating teacher and will be mostly based on his/her interests and preferences.
    

• Vacancy 6 and 7 – DC Om and MDC Podlubnik
  • DC Om and MDC Podlubnik are run by the Center for Social Work Škofja Loka
  • Working hours 13:00 – 19:00
  • The program is primarily intended for children and adolescents from Škofja Loka between the ages of 6 and 18, and their parents, who are deprived of a normal family life experience due to diverse life challenges.
    

• Vacancy 8 – Residential treatment institution for Children at Risk Črnava & Jelo Janežič School in Škofja Loka

1. Residential treatment institution for Children at Risk Črnava (working hours 10:00 -15:30 or 15:00 – 22:00) located in Preddvor is a community home for 8 children aged 10 to 15 with behavioral and emotional disorders
2. The other working place for this volunteer position is Jelo Janežič School in Škofja Loka (working hours 7:30 – 13:00), which is a primary school for children with special needs.
3. The chosen volunteer will be involved in both organizations. 
4. They will assist with daily activities, help with the program and they will also have an opportunity to organize different workshops based on their interests and the children’s needs.

Volunteer Profile:

• The candidates should be between 18 and 30 years old
• He/she should be from Bulgaria
• He/she should be motivated, flexible, patient, creative, open-minded, and interested to work with children/adolescents
• Able to speak English
• He/she should be able to bring her/his own ideas/ projects 
• Some past experiences from pedagogy, psychology, and youth leisure are welcomed. Ability in music, sport, manual activities, handicrafts, dances, art, multimedia would be also convenient

Volunteers are provided with:

• Flat located on the main square of Škofja Loka;
• Bike and tickets for public transportation (if needed);
• Every volunteer will have his own room in shared accommodation with other EVS volunteers;
• Shared cooking, washing, laundry and social facilities (WiFi);
• Pocket money (120 euro each month);
• Money for food (180 euro each month and the possibility to cook in the flat);
• On-arrival and Mid-term training organized by Slovenian National Agency, all the training organized by coordinating and hosting organizations and by some other partner organizations from the local community.

By that project, volunteers will participate in the well-established tradition of connecting related local organizations, which carry out educational, social, and preventive programs for children and youth, and for vulnerable social groups.
