Description

FAEL is a federation of nine associations whose objectives follow several axes: 

• Intercultural exchanges by promoting the Spanish culture in Luxembourg and facilitating the access of the Spanish community to others in the country. 
• Inclusion of immigrants in Luxembourg helping them in their integration by solving their installation problems (schooling, accommodation, work). 
• Promotion of solidarity values amongst different communities 
• Promotion of EU Citizenship and Democracy as steps and means towards a more solidary and developed society. 

 

Tasks of the volunteers

Supervisor to advise and follow up the volunteer’s activity on a regular basis will be present. Also, a mentor, to see to the wellbeing and integration, and to flag any problem that may arise. Weekly meetings with these key actors will be scheduled. Participation in training and socializing events by the national agency Encouragement to participate in activities to develop skills and increase capacities for personal development will also be organized.

Volunteer tasks will be to help FAEL personnel on: 

• Scheduling, organization and follow-up of events
• Reception and advice to visitors.
• Communication and promotion via social networks.
• Participation in specific projects of the associations.

 

Volunteers’ profiles: 

The volunteers need to be aged between 18 and 30 and be residents in an EU country. The ideal volunteers are ready and motivated to interact with local people and live a deep cultural experience. The ideal candidate should have the following qualities :

• Initiative capacity
• Readiness to use social media
• IT basic knowledge
• Linguistic ability: Good knowledge in Spanish 
• Autonomous

Practical Arrangements:

The European Solidarity Corps programme provides financial support during the mobility of the youngsters abroad. Here is what is included for every volunteer during their service in this project:

• Accommodation: The volunteer will have an individual room in one house or apartment shared with other persons (Volunteers, students, or workers). This lodging will be ready for immediate use, furnished, equipped, and with WIFI connection.
• Food
• Insurances
• Pocket money: 5€ per day
• Travel budget: Reimbursement (Between 275€ to 320€)
